I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Stoats, last year, and was delighted to return to enjoy its warm ambience, great facilities and everything needed to make one feel at home including a measuring jug for those visitors who like to cook.
I relaxed with walks by the sea and countryside, spent time in the hide searching for my favourite water fowl (Grebe & Lapwing) and enjoyed meals at the local hostelries.
Local butchers, bakers and candlestick makers are within walking distance, another pleasure though the candlestick makers appeared to be the local pub or cafe with candles available at the Co-op!
I look forward to returning to Winchelsea Beach soon.Janine Chambers
Great Long Weekend. Ideal location and property to get away from everything with family and pets. Just chill out or a short drive away (or long walk) something for everyone to do. Local shops were great for food and within easy walking distance. Nobody wanted to leave!Patricia Sheridan
As soon as you walk in the front door of Stoats, you are enveloped in calm. The bungalow feels like a cocoon. It is very well decorated with some lovely artwork. It is light and sunny with a peaceful, sunny and secluded back garden. I was very comfortable during the month I spent there, replenishing my weary spirit. I left renewed and invigorated. It is really peaceful. The best aspect for me was that such a lovely home from home accepts dogs – so few places do, and if they do, their quality leaves much to be desired. Not so here. In addition to a very generous welcome pack of bread, butter, marmalade, bacon, sausages, wine and milk, there were treats for my dog and some toys. I look forward to my next stay.
What a great place to visit and relax! Especially in the sunshine!
I’ve never seen so many blackberries! A very comfortable home and a lovely area to visit. I look forward to being invited again next time I come over from Canada.

We had a lovely Easter holiday in this very comfortable warm house in a quiet road near Winchelsea Beach. It is equipped with everything you could possibly need for a lovely holiday and beautifully furnished. The back garden is safe for children and has a BBQ and the front garden has a wooden Wendy house and list of ducks wandering around. There’s a great pub just up the road, The Ship, good for children and adults and the Co op is just opposite the pub and the deli nearby. Altogether a very nice holidayThe Brims
We throughly enjoyed our stay at Stoats. The house is perfect and catered for us all – baby, older children and our friend’s dog. There is plenty of space, the house is clean, secure, homely and peaceful without feeling isolated. The beach is a short walk away and there is a nature reserve around the corner, fabulous pub and a delicatessen where we stocked up on cheeses and other tasty delights.
Nearby Bodiam castle was a very worthwhile trip out which was enjoyed by the adults as much as the chidren, it could easily entertain the family for most of the day and there are talks, demonstrations and characters in costume with a wealth of knowledge about the castle and its interesting history.
We also ventured up the road to Rye for a ‘wild winter’ nature walk. A great spot for bird watching and a lovely scenic place to walk or cycle. There are some very decent eateries in the town, some art galleries and a traditional sweet shop which is so popular that we had to queue outside to go in- it was worth the wait.
We would love to return to Stoats for a longer period and discover more as there is so much to do and see. A highly recommended holiday home, an idyllic part the country and all in all a fabulous place to unwind
Thank You for a lovely weekend here at Stoats. The house is great and feels like a home away from home. We had a brill day our on the steam train and highly recommend it for both couples and kids. We’re looking forward to our day trip to Hastings today. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did. Looking forward to more time spent here!
Fabulous half term week spent at Stoats with our kids, friends and dog. Very clean, spacious, comfortable and well equipped house. A home away from home, the owners have thought of everything! Lovely garden with fab Wendy house for kids. We particularly enjoyed the ducks waddling up the drive in the mornings. Peaceful and ideallic location. Lots to do for all ages , house is just a. short walk to winchelsea beach which is beautiful. We also loved our day trips to Battle Abbey, Bodiam castle, Hastings, Camber sands and a steam train ride on the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway ! Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning !Katie Charlwood
